Nintendo Wii
The living room becomes the new Wimbledon’s court, Grand Prix racetrack, or Super Bowl’s stadium. The house can become a spacious ballroom floor, a football field, or beside the beach. And you can become a dancer, a Formula One driver, or a tennis world’s number one player.
All of these things are possible with Wii. It is remarkable in the way that it transforms TV to limitless possibilities. Indeed, videogames have never been the same since it has arrived on market shelves on September 14, 2006.
Coming in as the seventh generation of videogame consoles, Wii is a product of Nintendo’s break from fierce competition in the business, against Microsoft and Sony. Instead of focusing on enhancing video quality and other improvements on existing videogame products, like GameCube and portable DS, Nintendo lunged headlong to research in three dimensional, real-time, remote sensing.
The result? A product whose videogames do not need cables. How cool is that? Cool enough to let you play tennis, golf, bowling, and do exercises while detecting your movements for accurate scoring and measurement. While before you need to hook a lot of cables to make inputs to the games until your fingers get sore, now you only have to hold remote controls and other Wii accessories that let you be more active, more connected, and more absorbed with the game that you’re getting on. While before only children and adolescents are addicted to videogames and intricate traps and escapes, the whole family can now avail the promises for novel games that demands more than the eyes and fingers.
Wii has generated a lot of positive reviews on the way that it revolutionized the idea of videogames. More and more significantly intellectual and physical exercises can be derived from using the game console. Wii Fit lets the user to perform rhythmic exercises to trim down some weight, sports accessory allows you to ram virtual balls or brandish “real” swords, and other accessories that let you shoot, run, or drive cars.
That is why Wii has not only attracted the attention of younger market, but the cut across the population. The appeal is simply irresistible and discoveries on the capabilities of videogames are such that they can boost your IQ, or discipline your body in a meaningful, more entertaining way.
The most important of all, Wii does not let you go out of your house. How’s that for fun, excitement, and quality time with your family
